IELTS stands for the International English Language Testing System. There are four skills (macro-skill), listening, reading, writing, and speaking, that you have to complete in this exam. Easily, I would like to separate it into four specific paragraphs for you to read. First, you do the listening test, it takes time 30 minutes. Candidates listen to a number of recorded texts once only. The texts increase in difficulty as the test progresses. They include a mixture of conversations and dialogues and feature a variety of English accents. The candidates are given a limited time to read the questions before they do listening. After the listening test candidates are given 10 minutes to transfer their answers to an answer sheet. Second, you do the academic reading which takes time 60 minutes. There are three reading passages with different kinds of questions to answer. Texts are taken from books, magazines, journals, and newspaper, all written for a non-specialist audience. Answers are recorded on an answer sheet with in the hour. Third, it is time to do the writing test. It takes time 60 minutes, including two tasks. For the first task, candidates write a report of around 150 words based on material found in a graph, chart, table or diagram, demonstrating their ability to describe and explain data. For the second task candidate write an essay of around 250 words in response to a given topic. They are expected to demonstrate an ability to discuss issues, construct an argument and use the appropriate tone and register. The last test is speaking; it takes time at least 11 minutes up to 14 minutes and record into cassette. The task takes the form of one-to-one interview between the candidate and the examiner. There are three sections. Candidates are asked questions, speak for one or two minutes on a given topic, and answer further questions expressing opinion and speculation. These all are the IELTS exam format. If you would like to take the IELTS test, you should know about the exam format to inform you about the process of it. Thank you for paying attention on my journal, this is what I can share with you and I hope that it can help you.
